Edgefield Farm Premium Lamb
Our customers tell us our lamb is delicious. The lean meat and sweet, nutty flavor is the result of the way we manage our flock’s diet, breeding, and environment. More than any other farm animal, sheep thrive when they are raised in coordination with nature.
At Edgefield Farm we manage our flock in sync with the nature’s rhythms. Our lambs are born on pasture in May, just as grass growth speeds up, providing their mothers with lots of nutritious grazing. The lambs begin to graze as the abundant summer grasses ripen. If necessary, we supplement with natural grains.
As with all our animals, the welfare of our sheep is a top priority. Our lambs are never fed growth-promoting antibiotics or hormones.
Our crossbred ewes forage actively, tend to their lambs well, and are hardy in our environment. The Texel and Ile de France rams we use produce excellent muscling and flavor in their offspring.
Whether it’s lamb burgers on your grill or a juicy leg of lamb as the centerpiece of a family gathering, Edgefield Farm lamb is sure to please.
All our lamb, whether purchsed whole or by the cut, is procesed and wrapped under USDA inspection.
Ordering a whole lamb
If you'd like to have a good supply of various cuts of lamb on hand, consider ordering a whole lamb cut and wrapped to your specifications. We are accepting orders until Feb. 24, 2012. Your lamb will be delivered in early March.
A whole lamb doesn't require a great deal of freezer space. Depending on how you get your meat cut, a typical lamb will fit in about two large paper grocery bags.
Whole lamb is priced at $6.25/lb based on the weight of the carcass, which will be between 37 and 45 pounds. There is no additional charge for butchering or delivery. Contact Bill by e-mail or phone (603) 399-9975 and we'll discuss the various options for cutting and packaging.
