Farm fresh eggs from pastured hens

Our natural brown eggs come from a flock of Barred Rock hens that are provided with pasture during the growing season, and vegetable scraps during the off season in addition to their layer diet.

The Barred Rocks are wonderful chickens for the way we farm. They are active foragers with a sharp survival instinct that protects them from hawks and other flying predators. They lay well through the cold months without supplemental light or heat, and they remain productive for a long, long time.

Our customers often remark on the dark yellow-orange yolks, strong shells, and rich flavor that Barred Rocks produce when provided with the opportunity to scratch and forage, together with an appropriate diet of grain and minerals.
