WEST Coast Production Sale

Postby lambchop » Fri Jul 06, 2012 8:17 am

July 21 will be the 2012 sale at the Red Bluff, CA. fairgrounds. Dorpers and White Dorpers will be available from Broadmead Farms and White Dorpers from Grant Dorpers, Glenn Land Farms, and Lewis White Dorpers. Inspection begins at 9AM followed by a lamb BBQ lunch and then the sale begins at 1PM. This sale is oriented toward both purebred breeders and commercial producers. Rams and ewes, as well as pens of ewes, both commercial and registered will be on offer. There will be a discussion for all interested parties on the newly formed Western States Dorper Club. This group is just starting to organize and input from breeders is encouraged.

If you are looking for top Dorper sheep to use in your breeding program, this is the one sale in the CA. area to obtain them!! Go to: www.westcoastproductionsale.com for information or contact any of the breeders involved directly.

Paul,

Is your flock the only flock in the sale with EBV's? Just curious, but very nice looking sheep for sure.

Nice pictures, nice show info. Haven't seen any ebv's or any real production info.

Thanks for the comments. Our sheep will be the only ones with EBV's. We have 9 rams we have sent in for testing and codons. When this is back, we will select the top 5 and put the EBV's on our web site. Some of our top indexing rams being looked at have PWWT 9.8 PEMD 2.4; PWWT 11.0 PEMD 1.1; PWWT 11.5 PEMD 2.5; PWWT 9.6 PEMD 2.1 Those are examples of rams being considered.
